Question anyone selling the stock midpipe in California...

I was wondering if anyone has a stock midpipe that is willing to sell it inside of California. I live in Orange County. If anyone is selling one please pm me. Thanks.

I need one because I recently got a citation for having my bassani x-pipe that has no cats.

I've got an MRT H-Pipe with catalytic converters for sale if you're interested. I'm in Huntington Beach, California and I can bring it to you if you're in the Orange County area. I'm selling it for $350. If interested, just email me at robert_t_king [AT] hotmail [dot] com.

I have a upr x pipe that I had 2.5" mini high flow cats welded in that I would be willing to sell for $250. But I live in Texas, you would have to pay actual shipping charges. Let me know.

I am looking for the stock midpipe because I got a fix it ticket and I am going to be checked by a state referee. I don't know how strict they are on aftermarket catted midpipes though. Does anyone have an idea if the catted aftermarket midpipes will pass smog or inspection in California?

The catted MRT H-pipe should pass California emissions. Unless the tech is VERY familiar with Mustangs, he won't notice the difference between the stock mid-pipe (with 4 catalytic converters) and the MRT piece (with 2 catalytic convertes.) The MRT piece is supposed to be made by the same manufacturer Ford uses for the stock pipe (except it uses 2.5" tubing.)

If you're concerned, try giving Eric Cheney at XMP a call. (www.x-m-p.com) He might have some take-off mid-pipes available.

Does anyone know who else would make a catted h-pipe instead of mrt? Does MAC have catted h-pipes too?

Since you got a fix-it I would try to go with a stock H. I bet if you look in the junk yard, you will find a nice stock H on a wrecked GT. The only problem is that you have an 04 and the 04 midpipe has the O2 sensors in a different location than the 99-03's, so you would have to luck on an 04 in the yard. Maybe you can borrow one?? Sorry that I cant' help you out, I am no longer in SOCAL. Good luck to you.
