Let's see some aftermarket (not Mach 1 original) shift knobs!

Does anybody have a shift knob that didn't come in the car from the factory? In my opinion, a shift knob can really change the feel of the car. I used to have a red Speed Dawg knob, mainly because they have a licensed Ford knob line (no Mach 1 logo ). Also have heard that MGW is coming out with a weighted gripper line. What's your favorite? Let's see 'em!

Re: Let's see some aftermarket (not Mach 1 original) shift knobs!

I got a plain jane SVE Black one, like so:

Though I don't even see the one I ordered on LMR's site anymore... it looks exactly like the hurst one pictured above. It's about 2.25" Diameter and I love it. I wouldn't say I have hulk hands but the stock knob just felt too small. Plus, ice cold in the winter and I would imagine fires of hell in the summer. It's mated with a Pro 5.0 and I love it, I'll snap a pic when I get in the car to leave work.

Edit: oh it's you I remember your thread. Did you end up grabbing that Red 03 you were looking at for a daily driver?

Love it. I've thought of a pistol frip, or a T-handle, but you can't beat the feel of a cue-ball shifter.

Going to look this Sunday. We've sent videos and pictures of every square inch of both vehicles. If they're both as nice as they look in pictures, it will be mine! I'll be sure to post pics.

Even if I don't end up with this particular Mach, I've already got myself too hyped about being behind the wheel of one. I'll get a different one if this one doesn't work out.

Interesting. What's the difference between the Cobra boots? Stitching?

They are genuine leather.

Re: Let's see some aftermarket (not Mach 1 original) shift knobs!

I rotate mine with the seasons, helps keep a fresh feeling.

Spring- stock knob because its not too hot and not too cold. I love the feel of this knob, it reminds me of back in the day when we were all starting our Mach 1 journeys.

Summer/Fall- MGW composite race knob

Winter- Ford racing 5 spd leather terminator style like pictured above ^. I wear my alpine stars gloves during the cold season and they work well with this knob for grip as well as keep my fingers from getting cold and stiff. I also will quickly slip on my alpine stars if I find myself about to get "rowdy" with someone, no matter what the season.

I've got the MGW gripper knob too, though I really haven't used it in years..

Ive got a Mach1 gripper knob from before they had to stop using the logo and a Cobra T56 know (since I have the 6spd)

ya Ford went through a big crack down on people using their logos, if they dont "protect" their trademarks then they become fair game for use to some degree. I think MGW, along with a host of others changed up their logos so they were different enough to be ok. Id have to imagine the M1 logo was limited enough not to be worth doing a redesign

Got a steel shift ball made by a guy on Instagram named Corey Bradley. It gets super hot (I knew it would, but I cover it), but it looks like jewelry.

Thanks! They are Corbeau GTS II, and I only recommend them for skinny people.
