Low Mileage Mach At A Dealership in Pittsburgh

An employee posted it up on the steel city muscle cars forum. It's an 03 5 Speed, and all stock except for a Borla Exhaust. Even still has the stock tires. It came out of a personal collection and was sold to the dealership to slim down their garage. They haven't even posted it to their website yet. It has 2800 miles on it. They want 16,900 for it. Link to the dealership is below as well. Figured I'd post it over here for anyone looking for a low mileage car to give you a jump on it.

Whoever the previous owner was, had to have gotten royally shafted. I wouldn't think the dealership paid him more than $13K for a 2,800 mile Mach. Nice "Investment".

I agree, and its complete BS that these cars dont really get the "collector" consideration that other limited # Mustangs have. Mine's paid off, daily driven, has seen better days, but I still enjoy driving it and will for many years to come.

I honestly think it's because everybody slaps on Cobra parts on the new edges and then they all look the same. People see "another Cobra" rolling down the street or at a car show. I think people have lost interest in our body style at car shows because of it. At least that's what I'm seeing. I'm not mad that my collector value is low, I'm more disappointed in how my car fairs in car shows where all car types are welcome. I've only won one award this year and it was at a Mustang/Ford only show. It was against some great competition and I was really happy how she did, but other shows..nothing.

Car shows can be very clique-ish. One of the reasons I don't do them. That and I don't like giving every tom dick and harry the opportunity to touch/tamper with my car. Most people have no respect for their own property, let alone other's.

Car cruises only for me besides Carlisle occasionally. Older people love those plastic trophies so they can have them. I did get 1st place at a MCA event in my class which I really took pride in I guess a couple years back.

Re: Low Mileage Mach At A Dealership in Pittsburgh

If you're going to a car show that's sponsored by a different car brand, then forget about thinking your going to win anything, unless it's something unique/rare. Plus, you have to put up with all the voting for someone's car just because people are friends with the car owner. The car could be the biggest piece of junk on earth and still beat out your car for a trophy. The only legitimate car classes are the judged ones, and I'm definitely not gonna spend days on end cleaning every speck of the car.

Re: Low Mileage Mach At A Dealership in Pittsburgh

I watch as much of the auctions as I can, and every time a termi Cobra comes up none of the announcers ever mentions its a 390/390 car. Bring up any 60's or 70's car with 360 and its to die for. Truth is the so called king of the hill 454's and 426's were all just 14 second cars.

Yeah I'd love an MCA 1st place win. The last time there was a sanctioned one in my area was 2012-13 or so. I didn't place, but I did notice that they were real judges. I see what you guys are saying and you're probably right. I've spent a ton of time trying to clean up every little unmentionable place over the last few years and I'm getting worn out on it lol.

I know the 05 brought back a huge retro following, but the subtle changes Ford made in 99 really made these sexy cars as well as holding on to the heritage.

Re: Low Mileage Mach At A Dealership in Pittsburgh

We have a lot of shows in my area, being a small state and close to the NY line. Ive done pretty well but what really gets me is when you get put in a class that runs from 2000 to 2016 and a car just out of the show room wins.

Re: Low Mileage Mach At A Dealership in Pittsburgh

So I guess a Mach isn't worth squat even with ultra-low mileage. It doesn't surprise me. I've had mine for sale for 3 months and haven't had one response. A 31K mile Mach isn't worth even $14K in my area.

Cars make the worst investments unless you own a 2003 Ford GT with very low miles or an original Boss 429 - and I own neither!

A 2003 Ford GT would still be a bad investment. They never made one.

None of the newer cars have the class or character of the 60's and early 70's musclecars. Go to a car show that has both new musclecars and the old one's, and most people walk right by the newer stuff to go check out the old cars.
The LS-6 454 and the Street Hemi were easy low 13 cars, and had room for lot's of potential. Dave Dudek just recently ran a 10.4 at 134.9 mph with his '69 Hemi Roadrunner in the F.A.S.T. (factory appearing stock tire) drags. Sure it has several mods, but no nitrous, carbureted and normally aspirated, would appear like a totally stock car.
I've got a low mile stock '03 Mach, and I've got several old musclecars. It wouldn't even be a choice between what I'd let go of first. The Mach is a nice car, but will never be in the same league.

Sorry for the off topic.
