Re: Kooks longtubes gains on my cammed mach 1

And it'll feel like even more of a gain than it shows on paper! I remember going from stock manifolds and catted x to longtubes and offroad x, untuned, and it felt like 40-50hp. On a cammed mach, I bet it feels like 75.

Congrats

What kind of cams are those? I know it says custom but they seem to do very well for you

Spec'd by na svt about 2 1/2 years ago.
Wanted more midrange tq and peak hp around 6000-6500rpm. Stock valve spring, lift is .425 i think.

Impressive. I wonder if going from catted to catless made a big difference too. That thing is a short runner away from knocking at 400 to the tire.

I believe so. I think the lightweight wheels and going catlees gained me around 15hp and the headers 25hp, it would make sense.
Also the rotten egg smell at idle is gone since going catless.

Re: Kooks longtubes gains on my cammed mach 1

here is the idle video,
cold start, idle drops down to about after 30sec to about 1200rpm (warm idle is 900rpm), throttle blip is only up to 2000rpm (engine still cold). enjoy

It idles really high in the video, cause of the cold start. Once he engine is warm it idles around 900rpm and then it lopes, but not crazy.

I really want to put a set of cams in mine. That car is beautiful man, and sounds great. Do you plane to take it to the track at all?

me too. i was hoping for 350rwhp but my setup shows that if you select the right header and collector combo for you cam, intake, engine combo etc. you will make great gains.
