Help Identify Potential Damage
So...
I posted several weeks ago about everything that had happened when I clipped a curb. Well, I finally have the car back on the ground after installing the following: -Moser 28 spline axles -ARP wheel studs -Re manufactured right rear brake -Axle bearings and seals -Two AFS 18X9 Mach 1 wheels -Four new Nitto Invos Of course the alignment is terrible but I also quickly realized the rear axle is shifted to the left at least a full inch. Is this something to worry about? Of course I'm going to have it fixed but I honestly don't even know where to start! I have stock upper/lower control arms. I also have the stock short subframe connectors (have the Maximum Motorsport fulls, just haven't installed them yet). Could my torque boxes be tweaked or broken? I completely forgot to check them when I had the car on jack stands. Could it be something as simple as bushings? Last thing while I'm at it. This was my first time doing rear end fluid as well and I did a terrible job of sealing the diff cover. I followed the 'go-to' process but I think it's leaking because I didn't account for the temperature. Can anyone verify my process? 1. Clean mating surfaces. 2. Apply bead of RTV around cover circling all bolt holes as well and make bead about 1/8" to 3/16". 3. Put the cover on and snug it down until RTV barely starts coming out of the seam. 4. Let dry for about one hour if temperatures outside are at least 70 degrees. If it's cooler, time will be longer *missed this* 5. Torque it up. 6. Wait 24 hours before adding oil.

Re: Help Identify Potential Damage
Did you inspect your control arms for any bends / tweaks?
If found that the after market diff covers seal great.

Re: Help Identify Potential Damage
Alot of people say not to use gasket, but I always have WITH RTV and never had a leak, as well with my Drake cover from AM, and I add oil immediately after installing, that is just my way of doing it, never have waited to fill.

Re: Help Identify Potential Damage
Dont use the gasket. Use permatex "right stuff" or for a little more money order a lube locker gasket and me done with it. Definitely need to get your axle centered

Re: Help Identify Potential Damage
Yea I would definitely check the control arms as well as all the bushings and bolts on the uppers and lowers.
I never use gaskets on the back. Just a good bead of right stuff , torque it down correctly fill and go. Stock or aftermarket diffy cover? |

Re: Help Identify Potential Damage
Agreed with these gents ^^.. "The right stuff" is the only way to roll..
Clean your surfaces real good, Apply even amount of bead about 1/4" and let it dry for about 5-10 minutes and then Apply your diff Cover and snug bolts. Let sit for another 15 minutes. Then tighten/ torque bolts to spec, Add your fluids and your good. As for the Control arms, ive been in that same situation before. Check your control arms, the stock ones are just stamped steel and VERY weak for those types of accidents. if they check out, then check your mounts. Honestly if its off by an inch, it SHOULD be very noticeable what the problem is.

Re: Help Identify Potential Damage
No gasket. I have literally tightened down the cover with fresh sealer and filled the rear with no leaks.

Re: Help Identify Potential Damage
Appreciate the help, guys!
Had to meet a deadline on moving out of my condo so I was in a big rush to get the car rolling and never had a chance to do a full inspection of the control arms, bushings, bolts, etc. I'll post back here when I get the chance to crawl under it again.
