steeda sub frame con. length

im looking to get a set of sub frame connectors, and am looking at steeda, or MM, but leaning toward steedas due to simplicity of install.

anyone know the actual length of the steeda subframe connectors? are they as long as MM's? are they at least longer than stock ones?

i saw a pair of SR brand (no surprise coming from them) that was the same length as the stock set, and was IMO weaker looking and not as tall.

Re: steeda sub frame con. length

If you don't get a response I will go out tomorrow and measure mine. Yes, they are much longer and bigger square tubing and mount /weld in 3 places as well as bolting below rear seats (Steeda)

Re: steeda sub frame con. length

I ran Steeda SFC and was happy with them, I believe you cannot go wrong with either brand; like Steeda or MM. I say which ever one you find the best deal on. it does make the car handle a lot better. I do not know the length, sorry

what makes the Steeda's easier to install? Both require welding. FWIW, I have installed two sets of the MM connectors and they are easy to install, any easier and I would think I was drinking snake oil.

Seriously, if you are installing these yourself, make sure all of the car's weight is left on the axels before installing and do not force the bars in and weld. This prevents you from tweaking the alignment of the front to rear. MM instructions explain this in great detail. I think the hardest part was cleaning the area for the welds. BTW, whatever you do, only weld the sides, never weld the ends of the subframe connectors to the frame, this introduces a weak point on the cars frame, again, this is covered in MM's instruction but you would be surprised how many cars I have seen this done incorrectly on.

Re: steeda sub frame con. length

There are less parts on the steeda kit, looks like they have the tabs welded in place. Looks like less work to me.

I just looked; they have the same parts, the MM just gives you longer rear seat bolts so you have the proper thread count attached for the seat brackets. Steeda does give you the torque box plates, which is nice. Heck, both really look like they are made by the same people, they are just so close. The only additional thing that the MM connectors have is a plate that you have to weld on after the bars are installed, this is to reinforce the 'bend' part of the bar. This is the only difference, all the other install tabs are welded in place on the MM just like the Steeda. However, if your frame is tweaked at all and you have to bend the bars to align to your frame you will wish you had the MM ones. You tweak the bars to align with your frame using that bend area; after installed you cap that bend area with the provided plate.

Just want to make sure you have all the info; either bars will do fine for you.

Re: steeda sub frame con. length

Thanks for doing that!

I read the directions for install also, and I've read reviews of both brands and only heard good things for both.

Would appear that the steeda ones are 4" shorter than MM ones

Either way I'm going with steeda brand.

Is the seat brace not welded to the SFC?

Kinda defeats the purpose if the brace isn't solidly mounted.

Steeda is the same thickness as the MM set so they are the same strength wise. Steeda comes with the box plates so that why I went with them. Pretty sure they are the same length as well. My car is low miles and looked new underneath. The steeda set fit perfectly with no bending or tweaking. In taller said they were really nice compared to others he's installed.

Well I had car jacked up high and have to take back my rant on shop, the SFC
IS welded to the seat mounts, from the angle on other pic you just couldn't see it
