What would you do??
I have been going back and forth about the build direction for my car. I have thought about nitrous with all the bells and whistles, pro charger, or just plain all motor.
What I want is something that's going to be reliable and work as it should. I'm looking for a mid to high 11 (at least very low 12's)street car. What route would you take? If I go pro charger it will be a few years before I can pony up the money for the whole kit Last edited by Hpstang; 07-29-2015 at 11:43 AM. |

Re: What would you do??
the all motor route tends to be expensive on these cars
whats already done to the car and what kinda budget? nitrous gears and sticky tires is probably the cheapest path. Only downsides being that power isnt always available and bottle refills add up depending on how much track time you have

I'm all about the boost. Doesn't take a ton of head work and big cams to make good power. And the power is always available.

Re: What would you do??
not sure what the budget it is but have you priced it out snagging a used progarger kit from one of the forums? I would think you could get up and running on one for around 5k if you hunt the classified sections of various forums (assuming you can handle all the install stuff yourself)

Turbo. Might be a bit more pricey to start, but that's where I'm potentially headed...

Re: What would you do??
Used centri. Or eaton swap.
You can piece it together over a year or so that way its easier to manage cash wise.

Re: What would you do??
Here's my old Mach with a bone stock 103,000 mile motor a 4R70W. Has a D1 Procharger running 8lbs of boost. Cobra pumps with a BAP and SLP off road X with LM2 mufflers. Had some rear suspension work and 4.10 gears. Car was dependable as hell and never missed a beat.

Re: What would you do??
Boys and4 girls I might have just found my power adder. Just rode in a 03 Mach with this kit and needless to say it was love at first hit. This kit is for the Mach 1 and is very thought out. It is really hidden for the most part. Did I say it makes the Mach get down. Made 438 rwhp and 488 rwtq. Went from running 13.18 in the 1/4 to running 11.51 and picked up 13 mph on just a 100 shot. It hits hard. I have the bug now but I still have time to decide. For now it's just stack money and see how it goes when the time is right. Here is the kit. It's all under the shaker.

Re: What would you do??
If you decide on nitrous go with the outlet kit. Half the headache my nitrous system has been was from nitrous express products. Specifically poor advice and an absolutely terrible remote bottle opener. And if you have any issues with their parts they wont hesitate to sell you a new one.... Nitrous outlet on the other hand got an email from me on one issue i had and they actually dug up my phone number and called me to apologize and got a call tag right out. That alone is enough to swing me one way. When you talk to the techs from both places you can tell the outlet guys seem more knowledgeable.
