AC banging noise

I seem to have a bang when the AC compressor kicks on and off. It sounds like it is possibly a hose banging on the fire wall. has anyone else experienced this?

irritating isn't it.

There's a fix for it. Search the forum, this has been an issue from the beginning. If I remember correctly, people had Ford service mount the hose down.

The AC accumulator is touching the firewall and when the compressor kicks on, it causes the accumulator to move and you get this bang on the firewall. Fords fix is to slide a piece of insulating material between the firewall and accumulator, but if you reach under it, you can bend it away from the firewall so it does not touch. No parts required this way and it takes only a minute or so.
