Saying goodbye.

Should've done this sooner but I traded away my Mach for personal reasons. I'll miss the Mustang and especially the Registry community. Wanted to say thanks for everything.

This is our new baby (2013 Grand Sport Corvette, A6 Paddles, few additions), so far so good but the Vette community just isn't the same

Congrats on your Vette!

Due you happen to know Chief Tiek up there at Shaw? If so I used to work with him and if you see him tell him Greg said hi.

If you don't know him..... Enjoy your vet!

BTW I know what you mean about the Mustang community. The Jeep guys are ok, but not the same as in here!

Re: Saying goodbye.

I do regret trading the Mach in. It's one of the best cars I've ever owned.

Trying to talk my wife into letting me buy another Mach lol. Really do miss that car a lot.

Thanks for all the positive posts, Y'all Mach/Mustang guys and gals truly are a breed apart.

Very true, so far I've had good luck with the F-bodies
My buddy with a 08 C6 Vette does not like the Corvette community, a little more unfriendly than others.

Re: Saying goodbye.

Sorry, I meant to answer that question. I don't know that particular Chief. I was medically retired back in 2009. Most of the chiefs I served with are retired and fishin now

Oh and I spoke to mama (the wife), she said if I could find a Mach at the right price I can get it lol.

When I was shopping for My next car it came down to a Boss 302, GT500 and a vette. The dealership I purchased this GS from worked with me on the phone and email the whole time they did an appraisal on my Mach based on pics and video and stuck to it when I got there. Really great guys at this dealership.

They also gave a price on the GS that nobody else could come close to within a 200 mile drive from me so I just couldn't say no. I'd rather have the black wheels but the Chrome isn't so bad. When I had the Mach I took anything that was shiny and painted it black...thinkin I probably shouldn't do that with the GS lol.

Re: Saying goodbye.

IMHO the GS is the best deal going on the Vette's and I would LOVE to own one. However my most recent purchase of a new Ranger Z118 boat requires something to tow it and not sure the GS would fit that bill quite like my Jeep.

Maybe someday a GS may find a place in my garage.

Re: Saying goodbye.

Good luck with the vette. We have a guy that hillclimbs that exact car. He's hit the guardrail twice and wound up in a ditch, screwing up an awesome run I had at Polish Mountain in '14. LOL!!
He's a decent driver and sh!t happens. But he keeps racing so he's not a normal vette guy with a polishing/dusting box in his trunk. Hahahaha! But hey, you'll need to figure out what polish and dusting products those vette folks use or you'll be blacklisted.

But seriously, you've stepped up to a REAL chassis. Congrats!!!! And best of luck to you.

Awesome car - I added an '02 Z06 to my garage and I'm really enjoying it! I haven't driven the Mach since I got the C5Z...but will be swapping the two either this weekend or next - we'll see how much I like the Mach still ;-)

Re: Saying goodbye.

Congrats on your Z06!awesome car.

We had to drive quite a bit in the Mach to get to the dealership and got into the GS within a few minutes. It's definitely a different type of feeling than the Mach. Everyone here knows the Mach is no slouch by a long shot but the GS really surprised me. I couldn't really drive it like I wanted to due to the breakin period but you can just tell the power was just waiting to let loose.

After the breakin period I finally tried out a few things I couldn't in the Mach (safely lol). This GS holds onto corners like it's on rails. It's crazy watching the speedo climb while staring at the G-meter steadily rise.

As for speed...there was some guy in an SRT8 Challenger on the freeway acting all squirrelly around us, my wife and I was on a joy ride just enjoying the weather. This guy comes along and starts to rev, get behind then run up quickly towards my bumper etc. I'm not into street racing in the slightest but he kept getting more aggressive.

Finally had it with this guy so at 70mph I floored it, the GS immediately crouched, chirped and within a couple seconds I was nearing 120 and the SRT was a dot in the mirror. Have to say it was fun but a bit scary at the same time.

So far I'm not disappointed in the least with the GS but then again I was happy with the Mach both awesome cars. Still on the prowler for a Mach though lol, should've kept it. Oh well.
