Aviator block???

I recently purchased a mach 1 with a blown motor, block is no good. I searched other threads about the aviator short block, but no one talks about putting the 8 bolt crank in the block. I'm guessing if block is the same I could put my crank in the aviator block right?

Aviator and 3v blocks both work
3V block is the best alum block IMO

If I wanted to use a short block but just swap out my crank which one would be better to use aviator or 3v?

Why swap crank?
Just use a 6-bolt flywheel from a 01-up gt.
Absolutely no advantage to use your 8-bolt crank.

If you are going to swap a crank out you should put new rings/bearings in it too while its apart. That being said you can reuse you rods/pistons/crank in either block.
