KB BAP 20 amp disco'd

So I just got an email back from the place that I ordered my 20 amp BAP from letting me know that KB discontinued the 20 amp unit.

My 2 options now are either buy a used one or look in to an alternative like the JMS Powermax.

What option would you guys choose?

Just go with an alternative. They're fairly simple electronic devices. I was looking at one made by Vortech not too long ago.

+1, that is the one I have, ebay has some good auctions on them. I would try a WTB here on the Registry.

From what I read on the know site the 40 amp is for dual pumps like the cobras have. I was worried it might cause problems on a single pump setup

You can run a 40amp with a single pump. It won't hurt anything.

Agree, I have been running 40A on the Walbro setup since January...zero issues, it is set on 30.

Good deal. Thanks for the info. I feel a lot better about that now. I was real considered about why I had such a hard time finding the 20 amp today.

On the bright side I'll have everything I need for the turbo swap aside from the kit itself.

Tub. K, coilovers, injectors, fuel pump, maf and flange, eboost2 are all here or ordered. Hopefully this winter I can get the turbo kit and install done ready for when the track opens back up.

Haha it's a work in progress. Really shooting to have it done this winter. I'm probably going to sell my 4000 stall converter that I have sitting here to buy the converter I need to run the turbo too.

IMO if you haven't installed the pump yet I'd sell it, combine with the money you'd spend on the BAP, and buy a pump that can handle your power goal.

Later on I plan on switching to a Cobra tank since it is baffled and I won't have to worry about running it low on fuel and causing a lean condition. I'm just going to the bap until I upgrade the whole setup. On the stock bottom end I won't be pushing crazy power. I'm planning on keeping it to 450 at the most.

Re: KB BAP 20 amp disco'd

Is there just no way to make some sort of baffle for a non cobra tank? I'm surprised noone has made one that attaches to the pump or hat.
