Rear Tire Help
I currently have nitto 555s with 410 gears and p1 making about 450rwhp, thinking of going with Mickey thompsons now since the street nittos slip so much. I have the 17x10.5 wheels so looking for a new 315 tire. I never go to the track so would drag radials be a good option? I only put maybe 1,000 miles a year on the car but I feel like I can't enjoy the power on the street cause the tires just bust loose. Should I go with a better street tire or just go for a drag radial? Still have stock input shaft but upgraded 31 spline axels,

Re: Rear Tire Help
i dont think you're gonna shock the driveline hard enough on the streets to matter, even with DRs.
Just remember that even if you like to aggressively corner on the street a DR might be a bad choice. I thought I was gonna flip my lightning at the track just taking the turn to the return road too quickly on 555Rs. In this case Id think about something like the toyo R888 I think it is a lot of the cobra/shelby guys rave about

Re: Rear Tire Help
+1 Throw some toyo R888's on it and don't look back (autocross tire).
Best hooking street tire I've ever owned. Most guys see 5k to 10k miles out of them so that's 3 summers for me!

Re: Rear Tire Help
Those r888s do look like they would be perfect, what about the proxes tq tho? There a little cheaper?

Re: Rear Tire Help
im not up to speed on tires much but arent the TQ a drag radial? the r888s are really meant to be a track/autocross tire but apparently they hook like hell in a straight line too
