Cobra timing cover leaking
It's leaking from the unused bolt hole by the waterpump! I had everything done and when I started the car it started dropping bad.. Anyways took off balancer and waterpump pulley and I found that to be the source of the leak..
Is there any way to plug it up properly without removing the whole cover again?? Should have used more rtv |

You'll have to pull the cover and RTV around that hole. That happened to me and made a big mess.

Really want to avoid pulling off the cover if possible. I was thinking a tap thread and a small bolt with Teflon tape to seal it up? |

It'll leak between the cover and block. At least that's where it was coming from on mine.

Re: Cobra timing cover leaking
I simply plugged mines with ultra black RTV and it seal it just fine. And, that was last August.

Re: Cobra timing cover leaking
use the gear oil resistant RTV. It stands up to all oils great.

Cobra timing cover leaking
Took the timing cover off and used a shitload of black rtv this time lol even filled the entire hole
(I didn't leave the rtv like the pic, I smoothed/evened it out and filled the hole) Hopefully no leaks this time! I installed everything but I'm going to wait till tomorrow to start up the car, open headers and 3am I'm sure id wake up my whole block |

Re: Cobra timing cover leaking
Next time, use this stuff:
http://www.amazonsupply.com/permatex.../dp/B001REYVJE Right Stuff Gasket maker. You could have used that without pulling the cover.

Re: Cobra timing cover leaking
I should have mentioned, that I merely filled the hole with RTV(oil resistant).
