Well, shes toast boys and girls. I honestly just cant ****ing believe this is happening to me. I traded my turbo fox for this car to GAIN some reliability. 418 miles later, this happens. I was getting on the highway and ran out second and third gear hard actually hitting the rev limiter in 3rd gear. Didn't think much about it. Drove it like 2 miles more on the highway, no issues, look down and see the oil pressure reading is zero. I give it a second thumping it with my finger seeing if it was the gauge. It wasn't, felt the motor hiccup, got over pushed in the clutch and it died. Wont fire. Feels like it might be locked up. Going to drain the oil and check the plugs later this week, Try and spin it by hand. But I don't know what that is going to accomplish

I just can not believe my luck

Sorry to hear but FI and limiter don't mix. Hopefully the damage is limited.

Thats my guess to, just not really understanding why.

More than llikely, Ill put the blower up for sale so I can get a new motor (or rebuilt).

It seems the stock oil pump gears of higher power cars do not like the vibrations caused by bumping the limiter. Sorry it happened to ya

Everyone says it is vibration but I wonder if it is the sudden acceleration and deceleration of the pump gears that breaks them. If I remember correctly (going back 18 years) they say you knock 100 miles off the life of our engines every time you hit the rev limiter.

Stock pump gears suck period. All it takes is one or two times on the limiter to create bad harmonics within the engine and oil pump gear failure. It happened to me with a brand new Ford racing pump. Billet gears boys I am putting them in my stock 5.0 when I get the turbos the new motors have the same problem.

if i could go back in time Id do 2 things

1) billet pump gears
2) while the cover was off it would get a 3 bolt tensioner cover

too late now though...if the motor lets go I'll sell my ATV and build a proper motor (if the wife doesnt kill me in the process!)
