cop? msd, accell, weapons x,?
Anybody with recent experience with any of the above? Are they worth it, or should I stick with motorcraft? Got one I suspect is goin south on me so just gonna change them all out.

I wish I had bookmarked the thread, one of the lightning guys OHMed out a set of used OEM coils and a brand new aftermarket set, the used OEM set had very consistent resistance across all 8 while the brand new "high performance" set was all over the damned place meaning youd have pretty vary inconsistent spark from coil to coil.

A lot of aftermarket stuff is $$$$ but quality control is ****. OE suppliers have to make parts that are in spec and make a lot of them.

Another vote for stock. I ran Accels for a week. The car wouldn't idle at all.

i had read along time ago that several of the big time modular racers still use the OEM ones because they're consistent and have less failure issues compared to aftermarket ones

I'm not trying to high jack his thread, but what about the ford racing 4v coils? Any issues with those as mentioned above with other after market brands?

Some folks have had no issues using aftermarket COP's. However, there have been more incidents of failures with them. Given this, plus them not providing any performance advantage over OEM's, why even consider them. Just a waste of money.

the best ones i now use are the ford racing coils. they are the coils that are oem on 2007-2010 gt500. the part number is. M-12029-4v . you can get them at American Muscle .
