More Balanced Exhaust.

Hey guys I wanted to ask for some suggestions. So, I had the stock midpipe and the SLP LM1, and the car sounded good.

But I bought longtubes and a catted X, which I love but just have one small gripe. At 7 rpm, the car sounds AMAZING no problem with having a loud car there. But in medium rpms (about 3000-4000) the car is a little too raspy now.

So basically, is there a good muffler for it to be a little deeper down low, but still sing at those high rpms? The cheapest option would but just to swap in LM2s, but how good would that do?

Re: More Balanced Exhaust.

LM2's would sound good I had a buddy who had them on his gt. They would probably be a little louder or around the same as magnapacks. I would think there wouldn't be much hassle in fitment form lm1 resonator to lm2's. I have the stingers with the same setup (longtubes, catted x) and personally I think it sounds amazing all through the rpm range.

Re: More Balanced Exhaust.

I had LM1 when I bought my car, which weren't terrible with the stock pipe. Once I put the O/R X on with the LM1s it sounded terrible I had to change it right away. It is far too raspy at all RPM. I prefer a much deeper rumble so I went with MAC, which is similar to flowmaster but deeper. Borla is also another good option its kinda in between the LM1 and a MAC catback. Its not as raspy as the LM1 but not as deep as a MAC. Borla makes a nice sound only thing that gets me is it reminds me of a boat sometimes lol very bubbly! I would not recommend the LM2's though get borla over those and any of the above will still sing at high RPMs lol

Re: More Balanced Exhaust.

Anything that is actually a muffler instead of a straight pipe

Re: More Balanced Exhaust.

Have kooks longtubes and xpipe no cats with slp lm1. I like the raspyness it has and still has a nice rumble to it.

But if had a chance to change my exhaust I would def go with borla stingers

I dont know how you can stand that. That is a totally straight pipe exhaust.

The loudness is very controllable.. It's not like I romp on it every where I go.

I haven't had a single person tell me it sounds bad nothing but good comments. So I'll be keeping this setup for a little while longer.

That's just me tho

Re: More Balanced Exhaust.

I love my bassani's. It sounds like a cross between straight thru and chambered.

Re: More Balanced Exhaust.

I had Bassanis on my old set up and personally never liked the sound. I was running full Bassani exhaust, mid length headers, no cats and catback. For me it was very raspy at idle but sounded great under power.

I have Mac on my Kenny Brown and they may not be the highest quality but they sound awesome.

Current setup on the Mach is ARE long tubes, and custom Stainless Works from header back. It sounds good but a little too quite unless you open the cutouts.
