Question What Brand Is This Rear Window Aluminum Louver Set?

I recently purchased this used aluminum louver set from a local guy who had totaled his Mach 1 last year.

I'll probably get 3M doubled sided tape to re-install on my Mach, but was wondering what brand the louver is. It is not hinged, but has thumb screws for each mounting plate to remove. It does not appear to be the Visus brand based on the pictures I've seen. If a replacement mounting kit is offered I may want to purchase that instead of removing all the old two sided tape from the mounting plates.

Any ideas on the brand?

Might be Visus - if so, I believe they are no longer made.

I'm not sure what brand they are, but I know they don' look anything like the Visus louvers that are on my Mach.

Yeah - I see that now. These ones are more angular and edgy than the Visus ones are.

those are the ones I have, got them from american muscle
http://www.americanmuscle.com/alumin...vers-9404.html
I had trouble with them after I installed them. when I got over 45 mph they started vibrating thought they were going to break rear glass. so I modified them a bit. I went to lowes bought rubber cabinet door stops about 1.5 inches long, drilled 1/8 inch holes in all slats in a line mid way between the center and the side on the louvers on both sides. put a screw though the hole into the rubber cabinet stop so the rubber is touching the glass and raising the louver slat up a little. it took the slack out the slat so they don't vibrate.

Yup, that's the one. Thanks for the link. They have installation instructions and video posted there also.

Looks like the temperature has to be at least 60 degrees to install. I'll have to wait for warmer weather or use a hair dryer. I'll post up some pics once I install it.

Re: What Brand Is This Rear Window Aluminum Louver Set?

The louvers are mostly for looks (AWESOME!) for most people but they are wonderful for cutting out the direct sun coming in the back windows. This keeps the car a bit cooler & saves the upholstery...& if you ever carried a rear passenger their necks might like them. I put a Ford OEM set on my new 69 mach 1 back then & it was the best mod ever!

See if MRT stil has them or Roush too...expensive but cool.
