New in Dallas - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

Hello Everyone,
Just outside Dallas and recently picked up my first Mustang. A black '03 Mach 1 with a 5 speed. It's stock except for Magnaflow cat-backs with Magnapacks. This car is for me and my teenage son. At first we were looking at '05 and later GTs but decided that we preferred the Mach 1. I've always wanted a stang and am glad to finally be part of the club!

Welcome guy, I have driven several 05-09 GTs and even a 2010. They mach 1 feels more raw and animalistic than the S197s. Needless to say you will not regret your choice. I looks like you have some modding to do. I would first go with some new rims. The stock ones are 17X8 inches. I would go with some 17X9s in the front to get the wheels flush with the fender and some 17X10.5s for the back to get those flush with the fender. Slap some fat 315s on the back with some 10.5in wide rims and it will change the look of the car for the better. AFS Wheels makes mach 1 replicas in 17X9 and 17X10.5, I bought just the 17X10.5s from them for the back. Build quality wasn't the greatest (very minor imperfections in the paint), but that's what you can expect for "made in China". If money is no object for your baby, go with a set of forged rims (very strong and very light weight). TrueForge, Forge Star, and CCW all make very nice sets (CCWs are made to order, so you can customize the specs to your needs). And also get your car a good tune, that will wake it up very noticeably. Bama, affiliated with Americanmuscle.com (one of the best aftermarket sites for Mustangs) makes decent tunes if you're on a budget.
