Good numbers. I dynoed my auto a few weeks ago. Only got 255hp and 271tq.

Here is my dyno sheet..........can anyone tell me why there is a drop off in hp and tq at around 4800rpms?

thanks,
Noe

While your drop off is at a different rpm and looks a bit different then mine, I too had a drop off on the first two pulls. The tech was confused at first but finally decided it was my torque converter unlocking. When this would happen you could hear a very noticeable jump up in rpms. We let it cool for about 30 minutes and then on the last pull it behaved normally and that's when I got my 167 number. Any other autos experience this??

You did have OD off for the dyno runs didn't you? I haven't had the high RPM problem. I know that an shift into OD can cause slippage and a burned OD band.

Regarding the OverDrive, I mentioned that to the guy running the dyno and he said he did have OD off.

But I think that the RPM dropoff must be the OD kicking it, at least thats what is seems to be to me.

I'm pretty sure I was looking at the green OD OFF light when he pulled mine. It behaved oposite of what shifting into OD is like, the RPM's jumped up, not down. This jump up corresponds to the dip in my graph.

At first he said it was the "plates opening up in the head" Then later another tech and he decided that it was the TC unlocking. They said that when the TC unlocks the dyno will show lower readings. I don't know if that is indeed what happened or not. I have felt this a few times before on the street under WOT.

Actually a shift into OD at WOT can cause the band to slip which will cause a temporary jump in RPM.
