I just finished installing my parts: Ford Racing 4.10s, Moser 31 spline axles, FRPP T-lok, Moser/ARP main bearing studs, and the FFRP Girdle. I will be editing a video I made to help others who want to do gears. Here are some pix for now.

I came up with a few "back yard mechanic" techniques you'll see in the video- like putting the axle shaft in the carrier and a wheel on the axle shaft so I could torque the ring gear down without marring up the carrier in a vice. It's worth a good laugh to see at the least. High quality entertainment at its finest

Yeah, a few times. I had to remove the pinion bearing and adjust a shim. I asked the guy who pressed it to re-use the factory shim and he added 20 thousandths. I had to get that removed and put back to factory shim! ..

So far I'm lovin' the car feeling so light- easy to get going, not lugging in 5th etc. I am, however, doing this one by the book and am trying to wear them in with heat cycles and haven't gotten on it fully. I know (and have seen first hand) that you can technically get right in and beat the gears hard without having a problem, but this is the way I want to do it. The video came out to be roughly an hour and a half, so I'm trying to trim it down a bit and maybe post it in segments. Maybe I'll be done today.

Good job bro. Can't wait to see this long *** tutorial lol. You should come move to Cali so you can definitely teach me. I did my heat cycles within the day so I could romp on it lol. You're gonna love it. I can't wait to move up to 430s with my 5.4. :beer:

It's about to get real nerdy here! I'm uploading my vids as we chat. If anyone can sit through these things, feel free to add comments on the youtube vids so I can make the movies better. I had to separate it into 15 minute sections, so I lost some of the title slides that explained certain parts. I, myself, don't want to sit through it three more times for editing (especially since I have college classes again) so I'm just putting it up as it is. 5 sections

Me too! Something about feeling first hand that the diff with the ring gear attached weighs more than a bowling ball, then thinking about how many RPMs its turning- makes ya a little nervous

AH, 13.78. VERY bad shift into 3rd. I REALLY didn't want to miss the gear on the last run. It wasn't too bad. Everyone was running almost a full second slower. My brother's 99 LS1 camaro with an ms3 cam hit 13.99. You can hear me pep talk the car in the video lol. I installed a rebuilt tranny when I got the car. It has been very stubborn in the cold, but it's getting better with time.

What was the altitude? Your launch (spinning) hurt you a good bit and the 2nd to 3rd shift was horrid like you said. 1st to 2nd was nice though!

Thanks. 1st time with drag radials for me and they were bald hand me downs from a friend at that. I know I need some practice
