Moving to Florida

So as is such in the military, I have been told I am moving again. This time they are sending to Hurlburt Field in lovely Fort Walton Beach, FL. So I was wondering if anyone down there has the inside scoop on cruises, car shows, and shops in the area. Any help you guys could provide would be great.

Congrats to you and your family even if it is not MacDill like you we're wanting. Ft Walton is very nice though!

Re: Moving to Florida

Yes Jezebel is coming home. Thanks for all the info, it is gonna be a crazy couple of weeks packing and getting everything ready to leave. I should be in the area about the last week in October. I am very happy to be moving to the Emerald Coast.

Re: Moving to Florida

What is your AFSC or whatever they call it now? Hurlburt field is very nice. Go to AJ's in destin for food and fun. Pensacola evry year has a great mustang show which has been an MCA national show three or four times now. Lots of special operaters around the area so be careful who you tangle with. Have fun and enjoy! Great place to be stationed. I was a C-130 crew chief for ten years. Went TDY there A lot! enjoyed every minute...

Re: Moving to Florida

I'm a crew chief also. Worked and flew on c-5's and c-17's. this will be my first time working on c-130's, but since I made MSgt not much working on airplanes anymore. I am definitely looking forward to the change of pace.

Re: Moving to Florida

It is but I am going on a humanitarian. I am still trying to get to macdill, but they say there are no slots for me. I guess the reason for no slots is the fact that nobody ever leaves macdill.
