Re: What do I need for nitrous?

1 step colder plugs, window switch to be on the safe side, and go fast.

Re: What do I need for nitrous?

if you have a wet kit with that size shot you will be fine without a tune
colder plugs
also you can get like the window switch just for another step to be safe
its a ****ing blast

Re: What do I need for nitrous?

I hope a professional is setting this up for you. Like said above, it can be fun, but it has to be done just right.

If you have to ask questions about nitrous, you shouldn't be setting it up. This is just my opinion, but I strongly stand behind it.

For starters---

Window (rpm) switch. Never spray below 3k RPMs.
Wide open throttle switch. Never spray at part throttle.
Fuel pressure safety switch.
New fuel filter at a minimum. I'd also get a new pump, but that's just me.
Ngk tr-6 plugs. Check/replace and learn to read them often.
Never spray with a canned tune. Make certain a previous owner didn't leave a chip in computer.

After all the SC hassles, do you ever wish you'd have kept the jug and gone that route with the built engine?

I've used nitrous in other cars and I set it up myself, I just ask because I've never done it on a mustang or Mach. So I'm just asking cause every car is different I knew about window switch and all just wanted to know about plugs and if I needed a tune.

Nitrous is a safe and effective way to add power, if you do it right. I use a Harris speed works microedge nitrous programmer and love it. It uses a TPS switch along with a lean shutoff switch, window switch and delay. Kinda expensive but a good investment if you plan on spraying some nitrous. I would have it dyno tuned if you spray over 75 shot too.
If you think all you want is a 50 shot you won't for long. Trust me, this stuff is like crack, you just need more and more. Be safe, have fun!

You might want to look into a 1st gear lock out one as well so your not smoking the tires in first thats the way I hope to go.

Just bought a kit!!!
