Race Star Darkstars

Here are some pics of my Mach with the new Darkstar wheels - 15x8 in the rear with 275/50/15 MT's. These are the new direct drill and much easier to mount than the older tri lugs. The front wheel pis is of my new GT brake conversion with PBR 99-04 aluminum calipers.

Thanks, I like them too! I had the 10's last year with 60's and they were too tall and I didn't like the 60 foot times at the strip. These tires work great on the 8's and also they are lighter, didn't need the extra weight and you really can't tell the size difference.

Go down to the 50s and you have a 26 inch tire. The difference will be felt at the drag strip with that 1.5 inch of difference hitting the ground.

The old style had oblong looking offset washers that are a pain to line up in the holes correctly. The new ones have regular round holes and washers from my understanding.

I have Eibach springs so its lowered and rides great. The 275/60 on the rear do not rub at all either.

Yes mine are direct drill not the old tri-lug and fit much better just make sure you have good washers, I ended up using higher quality washers and lugs from Weld Racing, the washers dont squash as easy as the ones from Race Star. I torqued my rims to 80 lbs and ruined the washers that were given me with the rims. Other than that everything is great.

Are you running 275/50 or 275/60? In your OP you said 50s but in this one you said 60s.

I used a Crafstman chrome 6 point long socket, one wasn't supplied with the lug nuts. That I think is the only one that will fit or another brand as long as its a thin walled long socket.
