Re: Bad wreck two lives lost racing. Cobra

while contests of speed on the highway certainly are not the smartest thing to be doing, but as stated in the article i would be more interested in why there was a third car traveling down the wrong side of the road

Re: Bad wreck two lives lost racing. Cobra

I just watched the news again on this wreck. The third car unknown at this time that was racing the cobra left the scene and the corolla that hit head on with the cobra was driving on the wrong side of the road with the headlights off. It seems the third driver was in the deadmans lane and he got away. The $100 question, why was the corolla coming down the wrong side of the road with no lights? And who's at fault here the corolla driver, the drag racers?

Simple. Everybody's at fault. That thing's not even good for parts.

That's sad. That would be something if they find the car driving on the wrong side didn't have his lights on & they will prolly never know why

Rear end actually looks intact, but man, that must have been one hell of an impact! The driver wheel is almost at the steering wheel...

Someone posted this on SVTP saying the driver was his buddy. Claims the car he hit was driving down the wrong side of the road without his lights on. Drunk ? Wanted to die ?

Re: Bad wreck two lives lost racing. Cobra

Even if they hadn't been racing, you try driving towards a car on a dark road that doesn't have its headlights on. Likely would have ended fatal regardless.

We don't know the whole story, and weren't there. So I don't think its right to judge, blame, and call someone else stupid.

Main issue why I am against street racing all together. Too many factors could happen in wild what if stories which still place the driver at fault. What if a little kids ball rolled into the road, you swerve around it but hit an oncoming car. I like to know that I'm in a safe well guarded area like the track

I've street raced when young but have since seen soo many weird stories that they scare me. One thing I've learned and I'm happy for is that was with a 300 wheel horsepower car I will not have more than one beer all night just so I know if anything happens its not alcohol related at all

I've seen odd reports where there person was within the legal limit and someone else hit him, still alcohol changes the whole story
