I'm sensing some sarcasm.
I guess its good for a n00b but any dipshit with half a brain should know that "partially frozen" anything and hot oil will cause a "flash".
Just know WTF you are doing prior to doing it.

There are a lot of dipshiites in the US, I would go further but I don't to get on any community organizer's watch list.

I do turkey the old fashioned way, in the oven
Stuffed, lots of butter in pockets cut into the meat,
a stick of butter on each side of the bird in the pan,
foil covered until the last 1/2 hour.
Falls off the bone, never dry.

Re: Careful with those turkey fryers!

My sister made a deep fried turkey one year. It was delicious.

I did one Monday for our luncheon at work. Did it in the oven.
Thursday's bird will be in the peanut oil!

My suggestion to anyone wishing to do a bird in a fryer is to dip the bird in the oil prior to heating the oil to gauge your oil depth if you have no idea. It will still bubble up so leave room for "expansion".
That bird has water content, boiling oil and water don't get along real well. Use caution!

Re: Careful with those turkey fryers!

A guy on the local news tripped over a cord or something in the driveway and toppled his fryer and got 3rd degree burns on his leg and foot.....
