got a couple of questions
Ok so my buddy hooked up a diagnostics computer to my mach last night to see how my engine was performing. It takes a hp reading from the engine not rwhp, to my surprise it only read 290 hp after a CAI ,aftermarket exhaust with a offroad x pipe and a 94 octane tune. Any idea what is going on? I have 60000 miles and have never changed my sparkplugs could that be it? I figured I should have more at the engine than stock because of the aftermarket parts, turns out I have less...

Re: got a couple of questions
Not an accurate way to measure hp. To be honest, you put it on an accurate dyno and I bet its not even at 290. Takes a decent amount of mods to hit 300whp+.

Re: got a couple of questions
just go run it at the dyno and that will find out your numbers, those tools like that truly aren't for sure, but the dyno will be

Re: got a couple of questions
Dude, that's an app that runs on an Android phone or tablet. I have it, and it's a nice little toy, but it's nowhere near accurate! You need to put the car on a dyno, and at least you'll get close to an actual horsepower reading, depending on the skills of the dyno operator.

Re: got a couple of questions
apps like that can be handy, but its not actually measuring anything. Its using a factor for weight and the little accelerometer to guesstimate it out. IMHO it can be useful to establish a base line (like run the car at the track and use the app, see if theres a consistent difference between it and the time clocks and same thing with the dyno).
