Making rear stronger

Hey guys, I built my rear last year with the following stuff:

FRRP 410's
Motive bearing Kit
FRRP Cobra Diff 31 spline
31 Spline Moser axles.

I was think what else could I do to make it stronger, since I launch hard on my M/T ET streets.

What else is there to do besides Aluminum Driveshaft, Diff Cover, and U joint. (I know clutch, but I will not to it till I blow the stock.

As for a diff cover, what do you guys suggest. I will probably order a FRRP Aluminum Driveshaft for sure. I don't know much about U joints, theres a lakewood Universal joint on AM. Would that help? I'm just trying to have no weak points in my rear. Input please.

Re: Making rear stronger

Driveshaft comes with u-joints. I would buy the cover from a guy off ebay. Pay the extra 25 and get the studs he sells too. I bought several of them off of him too. I just can't remember his name. He is on this forum as well and is out of Florida. Ask him about the 8.8 che axle brace and see if he can get one of those as well.

After that, just make sure you have a drive shaft safetly loop and I would not worry about a thing. Other than maybe welding up the torque boxes.

Is welding the torx boxes the same as the axle tubes. I feel I probably don't need that unless I plan on supercharging. I mean I launch hard, but my car is probably only a little over 300hp

so is the diff coer junk?http://www.americanmuscle.com/gms-79...le-system.html

Or like a UPR cover?

Re: Making rear stronger

I'd get the diff cover, new oil, and silicon it on. Make sure you wait at least an hour for it to dry with the new silicon before you add the new oil. Or else it will leak, and you will be doing it again. Don't overfill either, or it will spew out of the breather hold on the passenger side tube.

Also, Id weld the axle tubes, and I'd weld the torque boxes as well. As said above. Torque boxes more so than the axle tubes at your power level.

NO. The tubes are welding into the carrier housing. The torque boxes are the areas on the car where the control arm mounts to.

A hard launch is a hard launch. Weather your N/A, S/C or Nitrous. Dropping the clutch at 6k rpms will do some damage.

I don't know about those covers since I have not used them.

See Phils post for the arp studs and the che axle brace. If you don't want to weld the tubes, I would at least get that brace. IT will help.

Yes, It's a good design to prevent axle housing rotation.
