Wide hood stripe options?

I've seen alot of Mach's with the wide hood stripe. I was wondering if anybody sells one online? I went to the local vinyl store and was quoted $240 for one

I want one like this:

If you're going to do it do it right.

I wonder about how much it'd cost to have it painted on by a good painter.
I wish I knew a good painter around here anyways.

Re: Wide hood stripe options?

I still havent found a GOOD painter! They had to paint my hood twice since the 1st time the pinstripe guy got drunk toward the front of the hood. I had the pinstripe and hood stripe cleared over and the i also had them paint the shaker low gloss black. I dont know how much it cost since i was having the whole car painted at the time. Id imagine around $350-$450. Paint IMO is the ONLY way to go!!

Re: Wide hood stripe options?

I was hoping to find a vinyl, I just want the ability to go back to stock if I ever needed to. My stock stripe is peeling bad.

Re: Wide hood stripe options?

I also had mine painted. Are you dead set on the stripe being that wide? The cool thing about paint is you can make it exactly how you want it, I did mine a little diff and love it.

Re: Wide hood stripe options?

I had mine painted over a carbon fiber hood. I personally would prefer the to have it painted, but if you don't know someone you can trust you may want to consider doing the vinyl. I had problems with my painter also, took the hood, side skirts, fuel tank cover in to get painted at the local ford dealer. It took them 3 months to get it done. I told them this stuff was going on to a fairly expensive car build and I was will to pay a premium for extra care. The painter did do a good job on the hood but the side skirts I had to have repainted, the first thi it look like someone dumped a dust mop on them. I couldn't believe they would hand those to me. They charged me $1200 I was Pissed.

Try Martin Brothers Paint and Body shop in Asheboro, N.C. Lots of our club members have used them and always been pleased with the results. Not cheap, but you do get what you pay for.
