Got into Pinks All Out-Norwalk August 27 - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

I just got the email this morning that I made the field from the waiting list. I am very happy. I got in last time and was thinking I was stuck as a spectator this year. Now I need to go out and hit the track before then to practice a bit. The best part is the track prep. If you can't hook there, you never will. I hit my personal best and improved every run last time down to 12.62. It would be nice to hit 12.5 something. Anybody else going?

Sounds like a good time! We watch it on satellite all the time. Good Luck if you get to race. Enjoy and we will be watching for you if it is televised!!

Thanks, my car is most likely a bit too slow to be picked for the field. Last time I said I just wanted to see my car on TV. They ended up doing a feature on the car next to me in the pits so my car got about 30-60 seconds of air time in the background. My friend had the misfortune of running against the quickest car in the field, mid 6's so he was on TV but not long enough to recognize as he was left in the dust in about .2 seconds.

Yes, sold out quick. Last time people camped out overnight to get in line and the phone lines crashed from people calling in. This time it was internet registration only. My secret to getting at the top of the waiting list is to send an email to the track requesting to be put on the waiting list as soon as the registration time starts. The wait list is time stamped so you will end up at the top of the list.

You don't know how close I was to putting nitrous on for the last one. However, even mid 11's is probably not going to make the field so I passed. Tempted again this time but because I got in off the waiting list, time is short.

That was a pretty cool race, I can't believe the end result. We walked past that car in the pits and just sort of chuckled at it but aam*. That is one long day in the hot sun I was fried.

I didn't get in hell it was sold out before I ever knew they were coming back. I was just watching. They said it would broadcast in about a month and ahalf or two.

I'm definately going to attempt one east of the Mississippi next year. The NMRA at National Trails this week will be the first time I take my car out since getting it started. However I'm having belt issues, if I can't get it resolved I will just be in the car show.

I left a lot out there that is for sure. Best were 12.78 and 12.90 at 108+ mph. Not enough practice this year and couldn't launch to save my life. mid 1.8 60 fts- i suck.

Oh yeah..grabbed a plastic grocery bag, filled it with beer and grabbed a good spot on the fence and enjoyed. Great races and great cars. I could not believe how empty the stands were this year. To go from totally filled two years ago to 1/4 full. Almost like it has run its course with the spectators. Lot of racers still wanting in at Norwalk though.

It was $25 to watch.

I absolutely agree there were some really cool cars there, great racing and a good story behind the winner. We were really confused about the turnout also. During the whole drive up there from Columbus we were talking about the crowd and where we were going to sit. When we arrived we were in shock, then I we figured the crowd was waiting till actual eliminations, but they never came.

Too bad the field is pre-picked. Pinks has become an overpriced TnT with a bald dude instead of a tree... in my own opinion of course.
