Passenger side window won't roll down

Im stumped. Maybe I'm missing something simple, but I have no idea.

Anyways, my passenger side window quit working last month. 2 weeks ago, I had the motor replaced, and it worked fine until this week. Now, the passenger window won't roll down again. Seems like its getting power, when I push the driver's side switch that operates it, and the passenger switch, the light dims so I figure it is getting juice.

Any idea where I should go from here? I had the motor professionally replaced so its nothing I screwed up, and it worked alright once it was switched out so I have no idea what the problem could be.

I would appreciate any advice.

Re: Passenger side window won't roll down

The shop you had the new motor installed didn't offer any sort of warrenty? How about the motor itself, did it come with a manufacturer's warranty? I'd take it back to the shop and have them take a look at it.

Re: Passenger side window won't roll down

Well motor ended up working fine. They took the switch out and just messed with the wiring a bit and it started working fine. Dunno why or what the deal was, but hopefully it keeps working. I read up on the issue of heat making the motor stick in some other threads so I left the window down 1/16th of an inch while I was at work today. Hopefully it works tomorrow, gotta have the windows down for my weekly friday night cruise.

Re: Passenger side window won't roll down

My driver's side window decided to get stuck on me after work today! It was a suprise to, cause it's been mildly warm here in So Cal and I've noticed that mine usually tends to get stuck when it rains or (once in a while) when I wash the car!

Window still working, hopefully whatever it was has ran its course.

And yes the heat has been ridiculous in NC lately. Set several record highs.

Re: Passenger side window won't roll down

Same thing was happening with me. Mine would roll down from the driver side button only, so I knew the motor wasn't bad. I just swapped out an extra switch I had and the problem was fixed. I fixed my Bro in law's corolla window by spraying some electronic cleaner on the switch (after it was all disconnected) I would suggest you try that if you have any more trouble with it. It is a very simple procedure.

Re: Passenger side window won't roll down

I've been leaving the window cracked just a little, and so far thats done the trick. Drove it today for the first time since last Friday, and both windows rolled down alright.

Re: Passenger side window won't roll down

Wow that's awesome! I've lived here my whole life as has my dad. he went to Ashe Central. I'm guessing you went to Beaver Creek, or maybe West Jefferson High or whatever it was called back before Beaver Creek existed.

If you haven't been here lately, things have changed a lot.

Re: Passenger side window won't roll down

Yep, they do. That's where I graduated from. Class of 05. We got three elementary schools that are all less than probably 10 years old or so, one of them was finished just 3 years ago. Roughly 800 or 850 kids in the high school. Good school system here for sure.
