03 differences?

Hi everyone,

I purchased an 03 mach 1 on Father’s day and just signed up on the 'registry' today. I have a zinc yellow 03 and my father in law has a red 03. We got together yesterday to compare each car and found 3-differences. First, the radio antenna on my car is black, his silver (chrome). Second, his valve covers are silver (bare) and mine black. Finally, his rear spoiler is flat across the top (front to back), while mine has a slight downward curve towards the front (full width of the spoiler). Has anyone else run into any of these differences on the same model year (03) Mach 1?

Thanks,

Scot

Re: 03 differences?

Very curious. 03s should have the black valve covers. 04s should be bare. Antennas are a hit and miss. Could be due to body color. The rear spoilers should all be the same, on 03s and 04s. Oh and welcome from Atlanta. PICs?

I'm interested in seeing a picture of that spoiler, would you mind posting one up if you get a chance?

Re: 03 differences?

Normally just a few differences between 03-04, but normally not the same year, unless one was a very late build, or they changed the engine out to an 2004.

the Side badging (40th anv) is different. The valve covers are not painted for '04

AS for the spoiler, never heard of that, unless the previous owner changed it out or leaned on it too much?

Re: 03 differences?

Antennas should be silver on all Machs. A lot of them got changed early on, but otherwise: silver only. The cam covers follow the same as mentioned above, black only. Silver was for '04s. No telling about the spoiler, but one of them sounds like its been changed out.
