New Car

So I pretty sure that next tax season Im trading or selling my mach for a new breed of Mustang. Either a 2007-08 GT500 or a 2011 "5.0" GT. Which one should I get they both have their pros and cons???

Re: New Car

IMHO i would get the Shelby, i think they look better, 5.4L s/c, keep its value alot better, you will see more gt's thank shelby's running around

the GT though you have the 5.0L the body looks amazing on the newer ones, but its not a shelby.

even though i love the new body style a lot better and the 5.0L i would pick a shelby first

Re: New Car

Daily driver? - long term fun car or what. I would probably vote Shelby either way I suppose.

Re: New Car

i dont know that'd be a tough one. After reading a article where muscle mustangs &fast fords took a 5.0 ran bone stock 12.5(if i remember right) and then put drag tires on and ran a 12.3 bone stock and claimed they even lifted the left front tire a inch off the ground..pretty impressive for stock!

Re: New Car

That's a tough one, it's like who is hotter Halle Berry or Salma Hayek. IN a few years I'm going to move on from the Mach into one of these two cars I hope.

GT500 prices are really coming down, nice examples are on svtperformance.com for around $30k. Can't you get up near 600rwhp with exhaust pulleys and tune?

Re: New Car

5.0, no question. Unless you get a 2011 GT500, the 5.0 is a better sorted car as far as performance, braking, suspension, and traction go. The new S197s are far more refined in the sense mentioned above as well as the interior. People will argue either way as far as looks, but I think the 2011 GT is a much better looking car. I'd get the 3:73s and brembo package, put some lowering springs on it, x-pipe, cold air, and a tune and call it a day. With those mods you would have a 400+ rwhp car that is brand new for under $40k. I know if I got an older GT500 I'd end up putting far more money into it and I'd still have a used car.
