I am really not looking forward to going home and starting the data transfer from the 120g to the 250g.

I have heard it taking up to 5 hours.

I like the fact of that wi fi is now built in but i dont hardly play my 360 as it is now but i do use it more then my ps3 which is only for blu ray and if i didnt need a new throwbearing and possibly clutch i had already sold my current 360 and bought one of these just to have one. Im sure ill end up with one eventually but since I dont play it much now as it is and Id prefer to spend my money on my Mach so the new 360 can wait.

Thats what i did. plus the hard drive was another 43 i think (120g) and with the crapy headset they gave me 5 or 6 bucks.

Im gonna buy one. I still have one of the first 20 gb first gens. Never had a problem with it in all the years ive had it. I like the hdmi, bigger hard drive and built in wifi that this one offers. Plus its supposed to be super quiet compared to the old one.

Update:

Left work early Friday ( around 4) so I could get my data transfer started, unpacked everything, hooked everything up and got ready to plug it up and NOTHING. Yep, nothing. I took it back to a good friend of mine at GameStop and of course he had already sold the ones after I had left. Good for me he did locate one about 80 miles away. So after returning the defective one and driving that far to get it. I got back home around 10:30 that night plugged everything up again and everything is great now. Only took an hour to transfer the 65g's worth of stuff to the new one. So far I love it. I just wished it worked the first time. Kinda left a bad taste in my mouth but at least it's working now.

not a bad deal for anyone wanting to upgrade.

i wouldnt have the full 299 for it lol.

Can you turn in the hard drive after you have the new unit???

Also, out of curiosity....does the HDD unit on the Slim detach like on the original model? Looks like it's made different.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this. My 360 is, finally, after 3 years starting to act up. Gives me the 2 light shutdown error at random. I can go for a week without it happening and then it can suddenly happen to me twice in one night. I've even had it happen after the unit had been turned on for just 2 minutes..........game not even playing yet.

I heard of some places doing that. You have a certain time limit to hand them the HDD

Pull the trigger. I'd do it asap. I'm about to because mine is starting to die with the fans. Getting louder and louder lol.
