Do I need a tune??
Hey guys, looking for some experienced advice. Have a couple bolt-ons on my M5 Mach, wondering if a tune will do me a lot of good or should I just roll as is. Minus the correction of the speedometer reading and the deletion of the rear 02 sensor readings, any noticeable benefits; will a good tune really wake up my car with these mods???

Re: Do I need a tune??
Your probly running too lean, you can get like 10-15 hp on top of that with a dyno tune.

Re: Do I need a tune??
That's my fear, that I'm running a bit lean. Guess imma head to the local tuners when I free up some cash; any serious trouble/damage from a weird A/F ratio??

Re: Do I need a tune??
if you have the money to do it, it couldn't hurt to get it dyno n tuned.

Re: Do I need a tune??
What would be causing him to run too lean? I have almost the same mods minus the catback and instead welded flows and the PHP intake spacer. Would he need it dyno tuned or just a canned tuned from say AM work? Don't mean to hijack just thought this is kinda the same page I'm on. Also what could happen if it runs too lean for too long?

Re: Do I need a tune??
There's no way to know until you put it on the dyno and take a/f readings.
Mine with a predator, offroad x, catback, Jlt ram air and spacer was actually running rich. So you never know. Atleast spend the 30-40$ and get some readigs and then go from there if you need it tuned. There's my worthless .02

on a side note, a tune will help 90% of the time. It's up the the individual to decide if the $$ is worth it. Personally...I'd pay the $$ to get the A/F checked, then go back for a tune later if you don't have the $$ for that. At least at that point you'll know where you're at without guessing.

Re: Do I need a tune??
Definitely what I'm planning on doing; get an A/F ratio reading and go from there. Thanks for all the advice dudes
