depends on what your goals are with the car. read some of the stuff in my build thread and that should give you a better idea of whats what.

I'll tell you i've had a couple different suspension setups on my car, first was eibach prokit springs in front and drag springs in rear with grenatelli upper/lower control arms, ALL THAT got scrapped and now I'm running H&R SS springs Tokico Illumina 5-way adj shocks, and UPR solid upper/lower control arms and I am a LOT happier now, still has decent weight transfer at the track with the shocks loosened up and the sway bar disconnected, looks GREAT on the street and rides really well also after the quality issues with the grenatelli control arms, I will never EVER buy another one of those products as long as I live. I had two sets of bushings in those control arms in the span of 5 months and grenatelli wouldn't replace anything. UPR's are guaranteed for life, and made out of chrome moly. They might cost a little more, but I wish I wouldn't have gone cheap to start out with. Hope my advice helps

Re: suspension for a mach1...
deciding where you want to go with the car ie straight line performance or handling is really important and will save you some money in the long run. i went through i think 3 sets of springs before i just said kcuf it and went with coilovers. id say if ur unsure a good starting point would be:steeda x2 balljoints, steeda bumpsteer kit, maximum motorsports caster camber plates, H&R ss springs, and either tokico adjustables or bilstein hd shocks and struts. oh and a set of good lower control arms as well. cant go wrong with any of steeda or maximum motorsports suspension pieces.

Re: suspension for a mach1...
I am shocke by the number of people who love their H&R SS springs. I have has a set for over 2 years. I do love how the car looks on them and the way it corners, however, they suck at the track. Yes I know I am on mystock shocks/struts and they are shot. I am looking to change to Eibach Drag Launch springs but can't decide on shocks/struts. My car is a DD that goes to the track 2-3 times a month.
Sorry if this hi-jacked ur thread.

Re: suspension for a mach1...
Lot's of choices out there. It really depends on how you drive your Mach and if your setting it up for drag strip or road coarse. I went with road race parts and like the improved handling. I went with high end parts like Tokico D spec's and a Watts link. I also up graded lower control arms to adjustible one and a stiffer sway bar. The company I got most of my parts is gone now due the economy but the parts are really well made so no worries. Have fun and enjoy moding your car.

Re: suspension for a mach1...
What lowers the car more H&R race springs or SS? I have seen conflicting info on several sites. This answer may help with the original question, so I thought I would ask. So far, my research has me leaning toward H&R SS because of all the posts I have read and the belief they will lower the car the same as or more than the race springs. I am also told the Bilsteins are the way to go.

Re: suspension for a mach1...
he could do the Maximum Motorsports track pack one, thats bout if i member right $4200ish and comes with pretty much everything needed to get a all round car for suspension. i sometimes suggest this kit cuz it cuz with so much stuff and sets someone up for success if they need too. i wanted to do it for a long time, but instead i'm not doing much autocross stuff and straight line is my thing, so i'm just going with a drag set up

Re: suspension for a mach1...
the sad part is it kinda got me wanting to do more than a drag set up when i looked at all these, made me smile, i like though how they build different packs for different things, they have a lot more on the web site, so any one curious just look around on it,

Re: suspension for a mach1...
ok so i wanted to post some steeda g-trac packs they have for anyone who likes steeda
555-2134 Steeda G-Trac Stage 1 - '99-'04 GT $509.95 http://www.steeda.com/products/gtrac_stage1.php i would suggest different Caster/Camber plates though 555-2223 Steeda G-Trac Stage 2 - All V8 Except IRS Cobra - '94-'04 $769.00 http://www.steeda.com/products/gtrac_stage2.php these shocks and struts are good but there are different good ones that work just as good if not better that you could get. also i think these are the stock shocks and struts that come on the mach, 555-2330 Steeda GT G-Trac Stage 3 - '99-'04 $649.95 http://www.steeda.com/products/gtrac_stage3.php 555-2324 Steeda G-Trac - Stage 4 - GT & Cobra - '94-'04 $389.95 http://www.steeda.com/products/gtrac_4.php

Re: suspension for a mach1...
to be honest i think you going to have to really pick one, its what you will want your car to do more of. IMHO. i think though you can get a pretty good suspension set up for drag and street, like adding front and rear sway bars. STB, the right lower control arms. and a few other little stuff, MM prob makes a package you are looking for. nice thing about suspension you don't have to add everything you can piece togather what you want and don't want.

Re: suspension for a mach1...
Joey, this might be for you from MM package deal
http://www.maximummotorsports.com/st...oducts_id=1030 but also adding some other parts too it, i would suggest bilstein shocks and struts instead of the D-specs. also if you don't have time to adj the suspension just right you might want to get non adj stuff like on the lower and upper control arms. also could mix with steeda stuff to. like steeda bumpsteer kit and x2 balljoints

Re: suspension for a mach1...
In short, no. When you build a proper handling suspension setup you compromise the cars ability to launch. Not to say you can't make a car that handles great and still toss sticky tires on it and cut a decent 60' at the drag strip. There are a few threads discussing the "jack of all trades" suspension setup people dream of over at corral.net.

Re: suspension for a mach1...
sure you can piece together a setup that will do all but it wont do 1 thing to its best but be mediocre for them all.
