How should I paint my Cobra Mirrors

I recently purchased some Cobra Mirrors and need some opinions on how I should paint them. One option would be to paint the whole mirror and frame a shinny black to match the Mach. Second would be to paint just the mirror shinny but leave the frame a flat black. If anyone has any pictures that I could see that would be great. Any black Mach's with Cobra mirrors installed? It would be easier to paint the whole mirror and frame the same but not sure how it will look. Would like to have them painted this week.

Re: How should I paint my Cobra Mirrors

just paint the mirror...leave the base whatever it is, if need be buff out the base part. When i got my mirrors i just got the mirror part painted yellow and the black on the base buffed out nicely.

Base matt black to match the hood decal and spoiler. Mirror match the car color and shine.

Re: How should I paint my Cobra Mirrors

Thanks for the input. It looks unanimous so I am going to keep the base flat and just paint the mirror glossy black. I will still need to paint the base due to someone scuffing up the paint on one of them in preparation for painting. My 2004 GT Vert had Cobra mirrors that were stock and only the mirror was painted to match the car. All Cobra's came the same way so I guess I'll keep with the stock look. I'll post up some pictures when I get them, should be done by the end of the week.

You can usually buy a used set for $200-$300. I paid $350 shipped from member Reloaded for a new set. I also think they should of come stock from the factory.

Re: How should I paint my Cobra Mirrors

If i were doing it, I would hit the frame with Trim Black ex. Sem part #39143, and then the mirror with Base coat/Clear coat...
