Loud power steering pump
Anyone know how to quiet down the power steering pump? Mine just started makin the ford power steering pump noise. Topped off the fluid resivoir because it was a little low, and that quieted it down a little but it still makes a lot of noise. If I can hear it over the bassani cat back, its too loud. Is there a fluid that'll fix it or should I just re-build/swap it out?

Re: Loud power steering pump
I don't have the info in front of me but a search should help yu out. I've posted which fluid you can use to keep the pump quiet, if the wrong fluid type is causing the noise. Our pump uses a newer type fluid than the Fox bodies.
I had a leak and added fluid from a friends work place, non Ford, and the pump started making noise. Also look for the info about purging air from the pump.

Re: Loud power steering pump
replace the pump. if you have it filled with the correct fluid the pump shouldnt be making any noise. if it is and it bugs you swap it out.
