Sooo Sad

I know it's been around six years since our cars rolled off of the assembly line, but we seem to be loosing steam here! There are second and third generations of Mach owners on the Registry (car genereations not family) that get excited when they purchase their Mach, but us Charter Members are dissapearing faster than WW2 veterans!

Is anyone up to a BBQ or Cruise to the cool country just to keep the juices flowing?

I'm not really interested in having to join one of the clubs. It's the friendship of the Mach 1 owners that I've met over the years that I'm interested in maintaining.

Re: Sooo Sad

I am working lots of hours these days, and out of town three nights a week, but still check in twice a week Rick.

Another Cruise up to Prescott, via Yarnell Hill might be in order. If enough people are intrested, I can call Ernie's Family, and see about getting the back parking lot, for our Cars, and side patio for us as a group. We could meet some of the new Mach owners, and see what the other "old timers" are up too.

I have been putting most of my effort into my '88 GT lately too, this would give me some incentive to work on my Mach.

Re: Sooo Sad

GREAT! We could take some pics and send them to Ernie.

Everyone should chime in and mention if Saturday or Sunday is best, and early in the day or afternoon.

OK, Looks like we have two Cars. I was thinking Saturday mid morning, so we get to Prescott for lunch.

Cool Re: Sooo Sad

Well will be awhile till I am back working again since I opted to retool and go back to school. Just landed my dream internship with Clear Channel here in Denver. If I start getting on air time I will let everyone know since we have a few members here in Denver area. Still have my Mach and several mods waiting to get bolted on just no money to get them installed. Still think the Mach is coll and get many looks and comments on the car. Yeah my sister owns that Bad boy the 3D Carbon Boy Racer and its like driving a crack pipe you hit the boost and its hard to stop. LOL

Re: Sooo Sad

Any of you ever come to Vegas?

I ran into a SY Mach owner at best buy Saturday... he seemed pretty cool. His car looked beautiful, very well maintained.

Re: Sooo Sad

I would be in for a bbq or a road trip. Either day would be good for me. We really do need to get back together.

Re: Sooo Sad

Man did I let this die. Sorry. Work has been insane the last few weeks. But I guess that means we need a cruise even more!

Chime in with destination suggestions, or at least length of trip thoughts.

I liked the Yarnell Hill/Prescott cruise only because it wasn't too long. There weren't any "all day" arrngements we had to make for the dogs. But I'm up for other suggestions.

We should probably avoid the 4th of July only because most have family plans.

Re: Sooo Sad

Hi Rick, ever thought of cruising north to the Mogollon Rim...well under the Rim to be exact. Our cabin in Pine is 2 hours from our door in Phoenix by way of I 17. We take the General Crook Trail through Camp Verde, then its up Highway 260 through Strawberry to the quaint little town of Pine. Lots of twisty roads and pine trees along the way. We always come back the same way but you could also return to the valley through Payson and Fountain Hills. Either way its about 2500 foot elevation gain and 20 degree temperature loss.
We'd be willing to host a little BBQ at our cabin or there is a restaurant called Nifty 50's that is a car themed place right in the middle of Pine.
It is a nice little drive and not too much traffic after you leave Anthem. Here's a little in car video from my last trip there to see what you guys think.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPJVmk3x9uw

Thanks Rick...do you remember the camera mount that attaches to the passenger headrest?? I just hooked up my digital camera to it with a very big memory card and let it roll.

The main bar clamps to the headrest posts then the camera screws to that...a much better setup than the time I had you holding the camcorder while I autocrossed
