haha, i AM in a helicopter squadron so i guess i do have that.
seriously, was there some sort of air force enlistment bonus that included mach 1's?

I'm sure it's not as much as some of the Navy Nuke bonus' but I've had a few of my guys get 15 to 20K because of their career fields (Enlisted Aviator, Loadmasters).

I recognized the helo squadron destinator. Spent a lot of time in Army Hueys and Blackhawks back in the mid-80's down in Central America, so I know the ride style.

Remember, these cars are almost five years old now. I got mine new and tax exempts, combat pay plus per diem helped pay it off early. Now it goes into mods and fixing up my old '70 Mach.

Most people don't spend much time thinking about it but ........... helicopters spend much of their time at cruise, very close to Mach1. When you consider the main rotor tip velocity for the advancing blade at cruise, that thing is hauling azz.

04 DSG mach in fort worth NAS/JRB. been in the reserves 2 1/2 years active status for all but 5 months of it. E-4 after the first year in. and a deployment to iraq.

USAF, TDY at Nellis right now for helicopter training...Then off to Kadena (without the mach ) Ill end up with some 4 banger for a few years...

Well, looks like this thread came back from the depths...

USAF Combat Weather here. Total active and national guard is a bit over 18 years now. Currently with the 127th Weather Flight at Forbes Field, KS (when they're not sending me to other interesting spots around the globe)
