Bypass Valve Question

So i know i could search the threads and all that **** but i want direct answers to my question.

Just had Modular Depot Install a used P-1SC Procharger on my Mach 1... as far as i know everything installed is what came from procharger when the previous owner had ordered it... well i want a bypass valve vented to the atmosphere.. what needs to be done to do that. I love that sound and im assuming this kit just vents the air some other way than through a bypass valve into the atmosphere. but like i said this is a new venture for me so anyone who can help i'd really appreciate it.

Re: Bypass Valve Question

i had stock bypass (the one that comes with kit) routed just like the instructions say and ran air back through the system. i have since upgraded to the big red enclosed and have that VENTED to open air. I dont see anything wrong with venting but the stock one doesnt "close" as tightly as say the race version. You have issues with vaccum or air leaking because the stocker does seal as well.
Dont know if that is 100% accurate but in my mind seems logical why you would not vent the stock bypass.

good luck

Re: Bypass Valve Question

You are sucking air through the maf, this is now metered air and is used to calculate fuel flow (mixture). If you then vent to atmosphere, air is lost and your mixture is screwed. (pretty sure procharger is a suck through maf setup)

If you really need 2f2furious, you need to convert to a blow through setup...air is metered after the sc. (turbo's meter boosted air...your system doesn't)

the standard set up for procharger is blow through...

Ok.........for venting to the atmosphere OR for recirc, you don't want either the vent OR the return CLOSE to the maf............plain and simple.

I understand you don't think it should be done.. it probably wont be done and if it is it wont be soon.. BUT IF I WAS going to do it what would need to be changed or done.
