My New Mystic! - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

Well not exactly new, but a 1996 with 52K miles on her!

I picked her up from a forum member in Merritt Island, FL, and drove it back up to Daytona Beach. Had the best weather for it today, and these cars get nothing but awesome compliments!

She'll be my daily driver, and like my previous vehicles, including my '03 Mach 1 I just sold, I will be taking very good care of her.

Mods:

MAC CAI
Bassani o/r x-pipe
Flowturds catback
4.10's
Eibach Sportlines w/ Tokiko Gas struts and shocks
AZA Z1 18" wheels with Toyo Proxes

The interior is completely stock and unharmed with aftermarket electronics and garbage. I was so happy to find a car that hasn't been molested, (that I know of, and can find!), and drives like they used to brand new. The car literally drives like they did back in '96. No squeaks, no sounds, nothing. It's absolutely amazing.

The x-pipe and flowturds will be exchanged out for a MAC o/r h-pipe and MAC catback very shortly. Those will be the only new mods, besides ditching the wheels for either stock '96 Cobra wheels, or chrome FR500/Saleens. What do you think?

It's #1810 by the way.

Go ahead, make fun of my slow 4.6L DOHC 4V V8. It's ok. I loved my '03 Mach 1, but this thing is an absolute blast to drive. I wish I could have both, but I really screwed my credit union into giving me a great loan for this, and it's saving me almost $200 a month more than what I was paying on the Mach.

Yeah yeah, I gotta change the plate. I'm going with "96 Mystk"

My favorite Cobra is in these pictures! I would say go with stock wheels if you can find a nice set. These cars look so nice in stock form.
I love the hood on these. I had a '97 for a short period of time

Agreed. I don't put many miles on any of my cars, because they're just for cruisin', and going to work. So most likely I'll figure this one out ASAP. I want to get settled into a house with a 2 car garage very soon.

I have a place to keep it out of the sun, it's just a matter of doing it, when I'd prefer to drive it as much as possible, and get my moneys worth.

Just ordered the MAC o/r H-pipe. I cannot WAIT to install it next week.

I'm so excited.

Nothing sounds better on a 5.0 or 4.6 than an o/r h-pipe or ProChamber. X-pipes = :OOPS:

I got a guy who said he would trade me his stock '96 Cobra wheels with new tires, an o/r h-pipe, and cash for my wheels.

... I would be able to sell mine for $1,000+, so I don't know if it's worth it. Another gentleman on the SVTPerformance forums has a set of almost brand new stockers, with new tires for $600+. Tires are 245's all the way around.

I might just try and scrape up the money to get those, and then sell my current ones and make out with a profit.

I love the Mystic color. I also like how brought the aspect of the paint into part of the seats so they kinda change color too.
