Lackland AFB mustangs

Hey guys, I am on base lib today, just got done with the Airmans Coin Ceremony and retreat. After 6.5 weeks of seeing some pretty nasty mustangs and a few corvettes drive by during pt and drill, I can honestly say I miss my mach now a whole lot. So anyways, who all drives by the trs areas with theyre stangs? A saw a red and blue mach a few times, a black corvette at 0540ish every morning, and I think there is an mti with a white 03 cobra vert. Also a black on black 03 cobra with an antenna ball, a yellow saleen foxbody, a black 94-97 cobra, and a silver cobra. I might be forgetting some, but sick cars. I am at the 320 TRS (hua), let me know guys. I definitely have a new appreciation for what you all have done, and what we do, and I am just starting.

I was experimented on at Lackland AFB, does that count? I have never been the same.

Re: Lackland AFB mustangs

Used to be stationed in that area and yeah there are lots of mustangs out in that area. Hopefully I can get stationed at the Marine reserve unit out there and go to the track also.

Yeah, you were there when they still had horses and Model T-Fords.

A least by the time I got there they had gotten rid of the Calvary and were riding around in Model A-Fords with Flathead V-8's. Those 85 horsepower Flatheads were the "Kat's Meow" back then.

Your right, NO mustangs when I was there. [August 6th 1963]
The Mustang, introduced in April 1964, was built on the compact Falcon’s platform and came with a Falcon suspension--soft springs and four-wheel drum brakes. The '64½ was actually considered a '65 by Ford, but many people now use the terms to differentiate changes made by Ford after mid-August 1964. At this time there were engine changes, the Mustang switched from a generator to an alternator plus interior and exterior color revisions

Actually this was the only Mustang I saw while I was there. It was a 1944 P-51D model and had a V-12 motor. I have another picture standing beside the same aircraft 30 years later (LOL).
