DSG hood replacement stripe options - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

i know companies like graphic express will make custom colored hood stripes for the mach 1. My question is, has anyone with a dsg mach 1 changed the hood stripe color?

My stripe needs to be replaced and i have been thinking about possibly changing the color when i do it.

If anyone has any pics, post 'em!

I also think black is the only color that would look good. There is a pic somewhere on the forums of a DSG with red stripes but I can't find it right now. It didn't look good. I say stay with black.

would like to see it....probably wouldnt go red though...

what would be the costs on that?

Plus i would have to have down time on my car while it is sitting in the body shop.

I saw this one in a magazine quite a while ago, has silver stripes and a little more. Just to give you an idea of how that looks.

Seems like I remember some others in the past saying they didn't want the fading stripe and preferred the solid. Mine still has the stock stripe, but I could go for a solid one. I guess I like either really, as long as the lettering looks like the original Mach logo.

You would probably have some down time but I didn't leave my car at the shop. I dropped off my hood and wing to have gloss black sprayed on the wing and the concept type stripe done in gloss on the hood. It was over $300 as I recall but it's perfect. I checked with another shop about doing my Azure Blue car and the estimate was just under $300.

I struggled with the gloss, satin, or flat question but ended up going gloss. It looks better than any other option I've parked beside.

DO you have pics? I have been thinking about getting gloss black as well, just figured now one has done that.

Iam getting charged 200 for a charcoal gray with white pearl stripe

Yours is black right? I bet that charcoal will look awesome...post pics when its done.

As for charcoal on DSG you basically wouldnt be able to see it from a few feet away, it would just blend in.

I should have it back tomorrow or monday but I will make sure to post pics when I get her back. As for it blending in that was kinda the idea behind mine I wanted almost like a ghost effect for the hood stripe.
