It had done quite high mileage (140,000 miles)

Suspect that a bad injector might have leaned out cylinder 7 and done the valves, yet to investigate this.

I think the broken tensioner is just a...

Am heading down to my mechanics workshop in a few minutes to run it up on the dyno with a stethoscope to try and narrow down the location of the noise followed by compression and leak down testing.

Problem is that the plug is missing that goes into the amp as well. Can't exactly just go to the junk yard and pick one up here in NZ :3:

Yeah it was like that when i got the car (still haven't had it too long now). Will rectify that situation while i'm getting other work done.

Yeah i figure as much, just from looking at that plug something is not right inside. I'm pretty convinced its something to do with the valve train, very possibly a burnt valve, when i get my leak...

Ok, have been searching this sight for hours trying to learn something about the cause of this head tick.

Seems to be two major arguments, some people say its valve guides, others say its piston...
