Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Just ordered cross-drilled and slotted rotors from Richard at Rotorpros after reading about the deals on here.
I got front and rear rotors, pads, and stainless brake lines for the front for $280 shipped.

Can't wait till they get here but that is a great deal.

He also said make sure everyone knows its rotorpros.net not .com

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

I have had Rotorpros drilled and slotted rotors on my Mach now for about three, maybe four years now. They have done great for me, and I will admit that I wasn't sure about drilled and slotted rotors, but I couldn't beat the price: FREE! My brother bought them for his Cobra, but didn't use them before he sold the Cobra, so he gave them to me.

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Was just quoted 290 shipped for slotted rotors, ceramic pads, and SS front brake lines. It's a great price and have been wanting to change my rotors and pads for a long time now.
Are these rotors made in the U.S or in China?

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Great price for a good looking rotor. I had them on my car for a while but upgraded to a brembos a while back. Couple of things....if you have an early '03 like I do the steel braded brake lines might not fit. They changed the threads and the lines are made for mid '03 and later. Check the rotors for defects as one of mne had a small defect in it. No big deal, they replaced without any problems but something to look for. If you road race or autocross your car you might want to think of something else. I raced one day with these and some sort of coating made them smoke something horrible. I was actually black flagged off the track for inspection..... Got better after a while but made me nervous as heck.

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Just placed my order for slotted F/R rotors and pads for 245 shipped.I didn't go with the SS lines because I didn't want the hassle of being sent the wrong type.

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Mine have been on the car for 4 years without a single issue. I also had the hats painted. IMHO as long as you are not road racing and having to use a lot of brakes, these are a good option.

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Cross drilled is a bad choice for extreme braking applications like road racing. Have a friend with an M Coupe, stock cross drilled rotors. They have cracked on him before. Luckily BMW replaced them. Anyway, I'd go with slotted or just regular vented blanks for any heavy brake use. Good deal though. I'm going to check the site out now.

EDIT: "All our drilled or dimpled rotors have soft "CHAMFERED" holes that will protect against cracking." ~ rotorpros.net

Pretty interesting. I guess I stand corrected.

your mis informed anyways. autocross and road racing will crack a solid rotor just as quickly as a drilled rotor or a slotted rotor.

I'm just going by what I know and what many people agree with, including professionals. A quick Google search will provide all the info you need, but it is obviously a hotly debated topic. Thanks for the info.

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Wonder if the rotors would be a good choice for drag racing, and high speed braking? Im planning for ebc red stuff though?

How serious are you into the drag racing? These are HEAVY rotors even if they are drill and slotted.

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

Would be more a weekend thing, its kinda like 70% fun street car 30% drag car.. But that may change in the future. I wonder how much the ebc slotted and drilled weigh..

Re: Rotorpros FTW!!!!

I bought some of their rotors about 4 years ago and they lasted a long time. But after driving with the skinnies on for a while and trying to stop at high speeds heated them up and the fronts cracked where they were drilled at. I'm looking to get another set but looking for just slotted rotors this time around.
