Borla Stingers + What Mid Pipe?!?! - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

I just bought Borla Stingers today, and decided that I might as well change the mid pipe with the cat back. So what mid pipe would sound the best with the stingers? I was thinking bbk catted x pipe.

I'm in the Army, so i think an off-road pipe is outta the question. Id rather not get multiple tickets and have to report to my CO. lol.

buddy im in the army too and ive had my exhaust very loud on base and lived on base too with it like that and never had a problem, as long as you do it at the right place at the right time you will be fine, shift at 2k rpm and you will be fine, most people will like it

my buddy had borla and o/r h pipe sounded sick

I've found the people on base to be more tollerant of loud exhaust than regular civilians. I've been on base open headers and recieved only smiles

Bassani Catted X pipe. I have that combo on my Mach and love it!

For the longest time, my exhaust was only the Stingers and a Prochamber, which was great. I was always getting compliments. Now I added Mac LTs which made it even better.

with you running MAC LTs just get the o/r h they offer and you will be for sure happy

You're misunderstanding. My exhaust is Mac LTs --> Mac Prochamber --> Borla Stingers and I do not intend on ever changing that.

The bassani catted x really made my mach 1 sound awesome and loud as hell. Besides the bassani x all it had was welded in SLP mufflers. I wish I had taken it off to put on my cobra but the current combo of prochamber and 3" mac catback sound awesome as well just not near as loud.

That's what I'll be running soon... Just ordered the SS Power X Bassani - it comes with metal substrate cats, O2 extenders and off-road delete pipes - not cheap at $515 (shipped) but supposed to be top notch quality/fit.

It depends how loud you want it and what tone you are looking for. The loudest combo with stingers would be an o/r x. The x pipe catted or not would be higher pitched than a H or a prochamber. A prochamber (what I have) is a mix between an x and H. not as high pitched as an x but not as deep as a H, it is also quieter (still very loud if o/r). An H is the deepest sound out of the three designs. I had a bbk x but in the upper rpms it was just to high pitched for me. I really like the sound of the prochamber with the stingers, but i have been thinking about trying an H just for a change of sound for a while (probably wont just because i like my current setup but I may give an H a try).

A catted x is not raspy. Whatsoever.

Fixed. don't know why I said that. When I had mine on it was clean sounding. My biggest problem with it was how high pitched it was. Kind of like an exotic car sound rather than a muscle car.

I ended up getting a BBK Catted x-pipe after listening to my neighbors, his sounds monstrous even on a GT. I'll post a vid after I install these bad boys on my mach.
