The Ford marketing group has got to be one of the most tone deaf entities in the world. Mind boggling.

They maybe good commuter vehicles but lets see how they do on a road course...……………...

Lol, why do ya'll not like this? This actually makes sense for a change.
They would have gotten much less hate if they would have called the Mustang Mach-E just "Mach-E". Especially because I'm sure there will actually be an electric mustang at some point. Lightening is perfect for the truck since it will actually be a truck and be electric. |

at least with the Lightning its still a truck

Re: As if the Mach E wasn't bad enough!!??!!
Finally got up close to a Mach-E "in the wild" last week...
For what it is, not a bad vehicle and not the Pontiac Aztek of Ford. But for what it is, it is shameful to have the Mustang nameplate associated to it. My initial perception was pirating the Mustang name is to leverage a marketing gimmick, but in reality it is just a complete lack of imagination when giving the vehicle its own identity. Keeping the Lightning a truck and making it all electric at least seems to make a little more sense. At least they aren't turning the nameplate into soccer-mom transportation. _ |
Re: As if the Mach E wasn't bad enough!!??!!
The problem is the new "Lightning" will be a badge they throw on all the lame electric trucks (regular cab/crew cab/supercab, probably even F250's and treefiddies) that no one will actually buy. You can't tow with those across country. haha! Ridiculous.
It's sad. No true street performance truck will be had. I'd bet on it. |
