2005 Mustang Moves To Flat Rock, Mich.:
FLAT ROCK, MICH. Feb. 10, 2003 -- Driving more 'horsepower' into Michigan's economy, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Jim Padilla, Ford Motor Company Executive Vice President and President for North America, announced today that the 2005 Ford Mustang will be built at the AutoAlliance International plant in Flat Rock, Mich. Production of the all-new Mustang, will begin in fall 2004, and is expected to add 1,400 jobs at the plant. Mustang production is being moved because the Dearborn Assembly Plant, which has produced the legnedary car since its introduction in 1964, is being torn down as part of a $2 billion redevelopment to make way for the new Dearborn Truck Plant.
