Edelbrock Supercharger
Too bad its for the 2005 - 2009 Ford 4.6L Mustang... 5 PSI of boost makes 466 hp, makes most hp with least boost needed

Re: Edelbrock Supercharger
That is not a real bad list price if it includes what it really takes to make it run correctly. Markup is like 30-35 percent so once they get out there you should be able to get one for less the 5.7K.....When you consider that you can take a stock GT and come close to GT500 performance for 5.7K it is a pretty darn good deal.

I agree if you dont go for the HO Whipple system - but the standard whipple does not have an intercooler and is good for 416HP. The engineering behind this one I think is a good deal better. I like the air flow and intercooler arrangement and I think installation will be easier then the whipple HO.....Then again I like the Pro-Charger better....

Re: Edelbrock Supercharger
Yeah exactly, the base whipple price is better.....but not for a better deal since its non-IC.

Re: Edelbrock Supercharger
Why have they not designed one for our engines? Our engines have been around for some time and only ended in 04...right? ..This seems like a great supercharger for our application due to our High Compression and the Low boost that is needed..

Re: Edelbrock Supercharger
Maybe Machs, but our 4v engine has been around longer and in many applications..

Re: Edelbrock Supercharger
I've seen a couple of these at our local dyno shop and they make the advertised hp (466 flywheel hp) easily enough, but not at 5 psi. The base kit that uses a modified stock air box pushed both that I've seen to 7-8 psi. Not sure how Edelbrock can say it's only pushing 5 psi.

Re: Edelbrock Supercharger
on that note, except for the crazy price, it doesn't look like it would be extremely difficult for an experienced fabricator to just mount the Super Shaker lid on an eaton or KB and just duct it in to the throttle body and bypass the stock air box entirely. Hood clearance may be an issue, and then you'd have to have the MAF sensor tuned into the car. But I don't see it as impossible. Of course, if you're going to go through all the effort with an expensive shaker, maybe the stock mach one could just be altered to work through the same filter/MAF design and ducted out the back and around to the throttle body. I don't know, I most likely couldn't perform the task myself, but it would be a pretty sweet deal to see.
