Just added a supercharger 464RWHP!

At first I was worried that I wouldn't get enough out of it to justify the $5200 dollars. Well, man its worth every penny!

Re: Just added a supercharger 464RWHP!

I went with the Vortec. The tuner said I really didn't need the aftercooler. 550 hp at crank and 415 torque. In Colorado I got 8.7 psi boost with the 464 RWHP.

It's science that energy equals heat.

Horsepower is energy.

464 Horsepower makes heat.
I would tune it down a bit, or
get an intercooler.

Do you know your iat's?
Air fuel ratio @ wot?

Thumbs up Re: Just added a supercharger 464RWHP!

Good numbers, but I am really glad I went with the Aftercooled version. Here in Florida I would be unable to drive in the summer otherwise. I would be on eggshells.

Re: Just added a supercharger 464RWHP!

That 464 was corrected at sea level. here in Colorado it would not be near those numbers. I thought I better get the aftercooler but he said if I dont stay into the boost like on a road course I didn't need it. Any more thought would be appreciated. I told him I wanted to be a little conservative tune, I dont think he listened. The temperature gauge stays at normal range. I cant remember the A/F ratio I think it might have been about 11? I was a little pissed after they completed, he test drove it and the oil line was too close to crank and it cut the line and spill out about 4 quarts, he drove it about 1 block while it was leaking. Any thoughts on if it could do any damage with only 2 quarts in the case. I didnt hear any knock when he pulled into drive.

Where did you get it tuned at? Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a little boost.

Re: Just added a supercharger 464RWHP!

I like the nice simple combo...they used to call stuff like that "elegant", heh heh

BTW, what are the fuel system mods? You probably do need some beef there. Also, what system was used to tune it, and how close is the MAF to saturation?

Re: Just added a supercharger 464RWHP!

From Vortec you get the whole kit, I'm not a mechanic so I dont know all the answers to your questions. It came with a new fuel pump and larger fuel injectors. It was done at DL Dtangs in CO. Sp. I will ask about the MAF saturation and A/F ratio. I do know it must be getting enough fuel because its strong as hell, even in Colorado. I can even imaginge how much stronger it will be at lower altitude. He didn't think the cooler was needed, I thought i should. To be safe I think I will get it. At 3000 rpm's it comes on strong and pulls harder as the rpm's climb, its unreal.

Thanks. My fastest time was only an 11.4 at 126mph. I should be looking at really low 11's maybe even hit a 10! We'll see this year!

Oh and here's an in car with the Procharger on.
